Right of the Middle

My father is a black conservative Jewish republican from New York. My mother is a white liberal protestant democrat from the Midwest. Such an environment fosters an understanding of the complexity of truth and the importance of discernment. I have learned that unilateral discussion of controversial issues is quite often counterproductive.
The name of this blog emerges from the understanding that truth lies somewhere in between justice and compassion. Between faith and experience, ideal and pragmatic, selflessness and selfishness, I would like to discuss ways in which to deal with life in the high-speed age of a volatile world. I find myself, as many people do, just slightly right of the middle. I look forward to discussing the issues of the day.
